about me

omg I’m Stephen lol

I am a 40-year-old queer, non-binary, neurodivergent human living in Boston, MA, USA. While currently unemployed and looking for work, I’ve gotten by with a little help from my friends and I do have a few particular opportunities I’m making space for. Over the last 12 years or so, I’ve made my career in Learning & Development (in a few different capacities in a few different industries) and, while I’m open to work I’ve done before in which I excel, I’m also focused on completing my education to become a mental health clinician of some kind. I’m not sure exactly what that looks like yet because I’m mired in the undergrad part of that whole thing, but I know my goal is to somehow help neurodivergent people stop getting so burnt out all the time, and help people in general find ways to heal and move forward in a way that we can collectively learn to stop perpetuating harm… World peace. I want world peace. (Maybe knowledge of adult learning theory, educational technology, instructional design, and leadership development will help with that, I don’t know. Oh, also, I write a really good procedural document.)

omg and Oswald too lol

The longest relationship of my life, to date, has been with my dog, Oswald. Oswald is an 11-year-old cairn terrier (born October 4, 2011,) and he is the light of my life, as well as the bane of my existence. A large portion of my emotional regulation skills take various forms of complaining about or projecting onto my dog who, for the most part, does not care one iota about my emotional state nor does he ever take my feelings into consideration, so he most definitely deserves it. (For anyone in doubt, this is meant to be satirical. He’s a dog.) In any case, since so much of my life is devoted to caring for this ungrateful wild beast I choose to clothe, shelter, and feed, it stands to reason a portion of this site ought to be devoted to him as well.
